What you need
Materials
- Fence elements (3.5m x 2.0m)
- Concrete feet (2 per element)
- Connection clamps (2 per joint)
- Storm braces (for exposed areas)
Tools
- Work gloves
- Spirit level
- Measuring tape (min. 10m)
- Chalk or spray paint for marking
Step-by-Step Instructions
Plan the layout
Walk the perimeter and mark the fence line. Calculate how many elements you need by dividing total length by 3.5m. Add 2-3 extra elements for corners and gates.
Position concrete feet
Place concrete feet every 3.5 meters along your marked line. Ensure they are level and aligned. Each element needs two feet to stand securely.
Insert fence elements
Lift each fence element (best with 2 people) and slide the bottom tubes into the concrete feet slots. Check that the element stands vertical.
Connect adjacent elements
Use connection clamps at the top and bottom of each joint to secure elements together. Tighten firmly to prevent gaps and rattling.
Add stability measures
Install storm braces at corners, ends, and every 10-15 meters along straight runs. Add anti-lift clips in exposed or high-traffic areas.
Safety Tips
- Always wear work gloves when handling fence elements
- Lift with your legs, not your back - fence elements weigh approx. 22kg
- Check fence stability daily, especially after storms
- Remove or secure privacy screens during strong winds
